The Greentree School Accessible Playground fundraising is inching closer and closer to become a reality.
Yesterday, April 26, two local businesses donated funds.
"We had Subway come out for a photo op at our playground where our new one is going in. They've given us $1,000 towards our fundraising for our playground. We had Centre Street Insurance come out as well with a total of $1,000 too," stated Kim Groves of the Greentree Parent Council. Kulwant Nijjar, Kim Groves and Erin Campbell-Bentley.
So far, the total is over halfway raised.
"We had a goal of $350,000 and the communities are really coming together to help us with that fundraising," expressed Groves.
The next fundraiser for the playground is May 27 for a Fun Casino Night.
"It's not actually you're own money you're spending. When you buy a ticket for the casino, you get fun money to spend at the casino. It's on the 27th of May starting at 8:00 p.m. (and) tickets are $50 dollars," explained Groves.
"We're in need of volunteers still for that night helping with silent auction, raffle table, VIP service and table clean up. If someone is interested they can give Tina (Hodgson) a call at 403-436-0707."
On May 26 and 27, Greentree School is partnering up with Western GM for the Buick Test Drive fundraiser as well.
"It would be really great if people would come out to support us with at 10 minute test drive on those days. 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 on the 26th at DVSS and 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on the 27th at Western GM," concluded Groves.
